Undergraduate highly qualified students can apply for DAAD scholarships and get fund for thesis research and or internships in Germany. The main aim of these scholarships is to help those who want to study abroad in Germany and at German universities. German university will give priority to German based projects of famous German university. Scholarships are available either as part of an organized study abroad program or as part of an individual, student-designed study abroad semester or year.
Every year self governing committee of academics and international education experts choose the Undergraduate Scholarship grantees.
The committee will see those students who are:
Presently second and third year students and during the stay in Germany will be in their third and fourth year.
Who are looking for DAAD support for a 4-10 month period in Germany during the German academic year.
Who have good, research or internship plans for their stay in Germany
.
The candidate must submit the DAAD language evaluation form with their application yet the German language is not compulsory.
They must also have interest in contemporary German and European affairs and also tell the importance of their project in Germany to their future studies, research.
After the scholarship period to complete their Bachelor's degree the student will have to return to the US or Canada
Exceptional records and personal integrity of the candidate is also counted.
Terms of Award
DAAD Scholarships may be given for a minimum one semester and maximum for one academic year. Just about € 650, monthly stipend will be given to the recipient and others funds for travel, research as well as health insurance.
The DAAD scholarship periods must take place during the German academic year anywhere from October 2011 through July 2012. The application form must be completed online.
